Raman Dhillon
Raman Dhillon is a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program in the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to joining CU, Raman worked in the telecom software industry for close to 3 years. He worked as an engineer for Tech Mahindra India formerly known as Mahindra British Telecom, in their Centre of Excellence for Next Generation Networking in the areas of wireless security & Voice over IP. Raman contributed in the design and development of a protocol stack for the IETF Diameter protocol and a number of security applications such as EAP - TLS / TTLS based 802.1x authentication and One Time Pad (OTP) validation server.Raman's current research interests include wireless networking and network security. He analysed techniques for improving wireless LAN (WiFi) performance based on smart antenna techniques. He is currently modeling the wireless interference potential of Cognitive Radio devices in TV (licensed) bands as well as identifying techniques for interference mitigation. He is also exploring security aspects of future Cognitive Radio networks. Raman likes listening to music, reading non-fiction and watching movies. He plays badminton and watches cricket. He has tried his hand at shooting (won two unofficial competitions for beer!) and golf (never made it past a double bogey!).
